Hiking
Our B&B lies on the "Sentier de Piemont", one of many old pilgrims'
routes through the Pyrenees to
Spain. Boule d'Amont is also close to the intersection of the GR10 and the GR36.

Starting at
'Le Troubadour' you can take any of 5 different day hikes to destinations
such as the beautiful Romanesque priory of Serrabonne, the sublime vantage
point of Roc Rouge (1,100 m) or the secluded mountain village of Glorianes.
The adventurous can also take a jeep ride or overnight hike to Mt. Canigou (2,750 m). For medium-sized and large groups, we provide a guide service for day hikes. In addition we've documented a number of these hikes, complete with maps. The routes to be followed are described in detail and easy to follow. |
Cycling
"Le Troubadour"
is the perfect starting point for cyclists as well (see photos).
The rides in the surroundings vary widely in terms of landscape and degree of
difficulty, and include a number of challenging "cols". The climate
in the area is Mediterranean, without the thunderstorms and hail one finds in
the Midi-Pyrénées; few cars, stunning natural surroundings with
views out over the coastal plain of the Roussillon, on clear days as far as
the Mediterranean Sea itself.
We offer information and itineraries for 5 different cycling routes, starting
from 'Le Troubadour'. These routes follow the "D-roads" (asphalt with
little traffic). The descriptions include the natural phenomena and sights along
the way.
From Boule d'Amont you can also cycle to the Mediterranean. The trip down offers
spectacular views. The climb home is work enough for the practiced cyclist,
but fortunately the swimming pool awaits...
For some variation, you can also rent one of our mountainbikes to explore the
unpaved territory.
